Does anyone have any suggestions for things to do with three-year-olds in the Williamsburg area? |
Busch Gardens. They have several kid and family friendly rides, including a new Sesame Street area of the park that just opened this year. |
We went to Williamsburg on spring break with a 3 yo and 4 yo. They had a great time and so did we. We went to Yorktown and Jamestown as well. They loved Jamestown. Jamestown has two different parks, one run by the Natl Park Service, the other by a private foundation. Both are worth visiting. The NPS Jamestown is the original site while the other site has a recreated Indian village and recreation of the 3 ships the settlers arrived on. You can go on all the ships. At Yorktown you can see a movie about the Revolutionary War battle. It isn't too long and our kids enjoyed it. You can climb around on the battlefields. There is a town there with places to stop and eat. Enjoy! |
In addition to what others said, there's a pretty good playground called Kidsburg off 199. We always stop there on our way down to the Outer Banks so the kids can burn off steam, and end up staying there about twice as long as we plan. |
Thanks so much! Great suggestions! |
any recommendations on where to stay while at Busch Gardens? |
We just got back from a two-day trip to Busch Gardens with 2.5 yo DD. We stayed at the Holiday Inn Hotel and Suites. Though 4.5 miles from the park, they're both off of the same road and it's a quick drive. The hotel is ranked #1 on trip advisor and definitely lived up to its rating. We were in a suite and the room was very nice, new and clean. Though we didn't eat there, kids eat free at the restaurant. I'd highly recommend this hotel, particularly if you're looking for a suite, as we often do.
