Vent. Clothing tags drive me crazy!!

Anonymous
I'm going nuts. Seems like all clothes - no matter if from target or brooks brothers - have these damn tags at back of neck and drive me insane. Why is it that even the expensive brands use these scratchy materials to make these stupid tags. I need to start investing in good stitch remover or have the tailor remove these on ALL my clothes. Can't tell you how many times I've been sitting and tugging at these tags that start to annoy me and just ripped them out! Usually causing a tear in my shirt or sweater.
Just needed to vent. Anyone else share my frustration. ?

So go "invest" the $4.95 and knock yourself out. Tags don't bother 99.97% of the population.

I do, OP! And so does my DH. He does meticulously cut all his tags out with nail scissors when he buys something that has them; he hates when tags scratch his neck. And let's not even discuss when you're out and about and suddenly realize your tag has been sticking up at the back of your neck for heaven knows how long. I've been happy to see that some places are slowly moving to print instead of tags in some of their shirts (e.g. Talbot's t-shirts).

Just cut them out. That's what I do for my son. Why are you paying a tailor to remove them?

Get a seam ripper. They are made for this type of thing. I hate scratchy tags too op.

Aren't most shirts tagless now? Mine are mostly printed on

You are right, I hate them too!

I hear you op. I'm a bit of a seamstress and will take them out with a seamripper but oftentimes they are stiched within the seam and you need to actually sew the seam back up a bit afterwards... grrrr.

I must be part of the .03, because I'm firmly in OP's corner. At least most underwear brands use "silkscreened" (I'm having a brain fart on what the actual term is, LOL) labels in their undershirts these days.

Or I could actually read the thread before posting. Yes, I'm glad most undershirts have PRINTED tags nowadays!

How an a "tag" be printed on a shirt. By its nature, a "tag" hangs from something.

I seriously love the invention of tag less shirts....It's like what took them so long...??!

I also feel the same way every time I no longer have to lick a postage stamp!

If I really like a shirt/blouse however I will still purchase it tag or none.

Love my tagless bras...except when I want to buy new ones and check them to see what brand / size they were and the non-tag has all rubbed off ages ago....
