I was really worried this morning when I couldn't get my morning dose of DCUM-- thought the site had crashed. But when I checked on my lunch hour there was no problem and nothing in this forum indixating there was a problem. I get home and realize it's my wifi that can't connect -- I can get to other sites on wifi and I can get to this site on cell data, but I can't get to this site on my home internet on any device. I like to think I am a reasonably constructive member if DCUM society-- I try to report spammers, I pointed out to that guy suggesting you were tyrannical for not transferring a topic to the nanny forum that in fact you had already made clear you couldn't, I try to give helpful advice in money and travel and almost always stop myself before posting things I'd regret in politics or other forums. Are you just not into me? |

Thanks to your comment in the nanny post thread, I was able to determine your home IP address and it was blocked. However, I don't know why it was blocked and I've unblocked it. I have a lot of automatic procedures that are meant to detect bad behavior and place a 24 hour block on addresses. I think you got caught by one of those, but I'm not sure why. I am constantly tuning these things to eliminate false positives, so I'll dig into the logs to try to figure out what happened. |

I have a question for Jeff too.
When I'm overseas in my home country in the same house that we always stay in, I can't ever get to DCUM from the wifi there. Is my IP address blocked? I'm able to get to DCUM from other places in the city. |
Your IP address is probably blocked, but I have no way of knowing without more information what your IP address is. I've blocked a lot of foreign addresses. Let me know when you are going to your home country again and I'll tell you how you can determine your address and let me know. |
if we post a lot but is very do we get blocked? I don't know why I was blocked I don't spam I just helping others with the questions |
I got blocked because I posted an unkind comment a long time ago during the riots in Baltimore. My husband is a Federal LEO and was right in the middle of that mess. I was scared and upset when I posted. Normally, I am not reactionary.
I would love to be unblocked, Jeff! |
Apparently you are since you are posting. But, if you have a specific address that you think is blocked, you will have to let me know what it is. All you "anonymous" folks look the same to me. |
If you post a lot of posts in a very short time, you can be caught by the spam detector. But, that should be a short block for an hour or so. Another automatic blocker blocks for 24 hours If you are blocked for longer than that, you have either seriously pissed me off, I've made a mistake, or something else is blocking you. |
No. I'm blocked at home. I can only post over 4G or from other places. And honestly, my post was mean-spirited. I felt bad as soon as I hit submit. I was posting from a place of fear. Never a good thing to do. |
If you are still blocked, it means that you are in the "seriously pissed me off" category and I will have to manually unblock you. But, to do that, I'll have to know your IP address. You can find that out from: http://whatismyipaddress.com Go there from your home, get the address, and then use your phone to "report" it. |
