| At the bus stop to accompany them home or to an afterschool program? Our first year taking the bus will be this Fall and I am curious about this. |
| Sad |
| Not Kindergarteners. But all other kids, yes, they can get off the bus without an adult. |
| yes , |
|
Not Kindergarteners or special ed kids |
| Really? I thought there was a rule that you had to be a certain age before they would do this. |
Not for 1st grade and up. Kinergarteners need someone meeting them at the bus stop. |
Depends on the Special Ed kid and their issues, most do not have to have someone meeting them. |
| Do first graders usually have an adult waiting for them anyway? What do your 1st graders do? DS is in K this year and I'm wondering if it's really ok for him to walk home next year. All the kids at our stop always have an adult waiting. |
Op here this is my question as well. |
| It is the norm in our neighborhood for parents (or an adult) to wait at the bus stop for first graders. |
First graders usually have an adult waiting for them in my neighborhood even if the house is right there |
| FCPS drops off without parent except for KG, |
This is true in my neighborhood of the child does not have older siblings. Then they walk home with their older sibling(s). |
here is: first grade. we already told you. why do adults need to be present? i'm not following you there. |
