Fluid in endometrium lining during IVF?

Anonymous
Hi All - so I am at Shady Grove going through my 2nd fresh IVF cycle. First fresh and one FET were unsuccessful we believe due to embryo quality most likely stemming from a sever male factor. My husband has since had varicocele surgery and has been on a lot of vitamins and herbs - his morphology is up to 4%, motility at 68%, although count still below 2m. Anyway - we are moving forward with IVF 2 and doing P-ICSI this time instead of ICSI. Everything has been looking great with my cycle - I went in for my last scan today before trigger tonight and have 15 large mature follicles and perfect lining... except... I just got a call from my doctor saying that upon further inspection she saw a bit of fluid in the lining. She doesn't seem too concerned as she said it often clears itself up once progesterone is started, but if it doesn't we would definitely have to cancel a transfer. Has anyone else had this? I didn't even realize this could be an issue so would love to hear if anyone else has gone through it and if it cleared up or not / did you wait and freeze all / did you get a BFP etc? I feel like every day on this roller coaster there is something new to stress about! My lining didn't get much above 7mm on my FET so we were definitely planning to move forward with transferring on the fresh cycle since I am right around 9mm now. Thanks for the advice!

A friend of mine had this and it cleared up on it's on and she was able to do the transfer. Good luck!

Thanks - did she get a positive pregnancy test? Apparently there is like a 75% chance it will clear up when I start progesterone. It's just so frustrating - I can't get on the good sides of 50/50 odds with embryo transfers and now I have something that apparently only 2% of people get and it just starts the day I trigger?

I had it and it was a sign of hyper stimulation. Also make sure it's not your progesterone rising above 1.5- in those cases you'd definitely want go do a freeze all

OP: Progesterone was at 1.0, she didn't seem to think it was hyper stimulation, apparently just a random thing that happens in a very small % of cases. Really hope it clears up! I'll come back and post the outcome next week if we make it to transfer (in the hopes this will help someone else)

OP here with an update - so the fluid was gone at retrieval but my bad luck continued - I started to ovulate right before the surgery and lost 4 eggs! I'm so annoyed. I was IV'd up and ready to go over an hour early and if they would have started then it probably would have made the difference. The doctor also said I probably ovulated the best ones first - so annoying. ended up with 14 and 12 mature which I know isn't terrible, but I had 18 follicles and we were expecting about 16 mature eggs. So annoyed.

OP again - pregnant off the fresh transfer! So for anyone reading, don't stress too much if they mention a bit of fluid in the lining
