Middle-School Classes on transcripts

How are the middle-school classes which earn high school credit listed on transcripts?
Does it say Algebra I B 7th Grade or just list the year taken?

Just the year

I had to go peek at sophomore son's Grades and Graduation Credit Report on Edline for the answer. PP is correct, it is just the year that's indicated, not grade level. Of course, it's the same thing for anyone doing the basic math.

Yes they absolutely do. As we have unfortunately discovered.

Which means you shouldn't push your kid to take a class that will be a reach in MS.

Take the slower paced foreign language class, and don't push for your kid to be placed in an upper level math class unless he can succeed...because those grades will affect their transcript...which is stupid.

Or retake the class Freshman year and the MS grade will not be recorded.

So if you get a C for a certain HS class while you are in MS, and repeat that same class in HS, colleges have no way to tell you already took that class in MS?
Can that be true?

Correct. It's even stated outright in the high school course catalogue.

It does need to be repeated in 9th grade (or MS) retaking later in HS regular rules for repeating classes apply (i.e. both attempts appear on the transcript). But for exact details talk with a HS counselor.

My child's MS does not have the slower paced foreign language. He will be starting a language in 7th. So how would he repeat in 9th? He just wouldn't take a language in 8th? Also, I have the same question about taking Algebra in 7th.

This is so stupid. What is tab rationale for this policy and has there ever been a coordinated effort to get it changed?

9th is the last chance to repeat it. He could repeat it in 8th if the grade is a problem.
