| Each week I go to the school site to see the pics from the week and I never see any pics of my child! I see the same kids all the time. The school photographer clearly has certain kids that they prefer to take pictures of, but it seems like it's only the popular kids or kids of the super wealthy parents who are selected. Should I mention this to the school? It really is sickening. |
Do you have a school photographer? At our school it is the mothers who take these photos. |
| I had this situation happen with newsletters that were copied and sent home to all parents. After the third one, I took them to the teacher and talked with her about it. There was a mom who was taking photos and putting the newsletter together and the teacher was so thankful to have it that she didn't notice. I felt it was her job to notice and to make sure that my son and all kids were present, and not just the photo mom's daughter and her friends. The issues in the future were better. It does hurt to not see you child. Talk to the teacher. |

Maybe send a little note to the teacher to ask if Johnny is okay at school because you haven't seen any photos of him so were wondering if he is maybe hanging back.
Once you've seen a photo or two, you probably won't be bothered about it anymore. |

Troll Post.
True nonsense. Honestly, every private school has a communications director and that is who takes the photos for the website. PP claim its another mother. Nonsense. Only an idiot would believe this. Don't you know that their kids on a no photo list whose parents have barred them from being photographed. Do you honestly think any DC private would risk liability by allowing a class mom to juts randomly photograph and post on the school website. LOL Not to mention, the website is a marketing tool and the demographics in the photos have to match the schools states figures/ image |

This response is incoherent and makes no sense. Have some coffee and study what a 'troll post' actually means. |
Firstly, don't get so upset!! I say this with kindness. This is not something to get sick about!! Next, talk to the teachers or head of your child's lower school. Let them know that you're noticing the same kids represented over and over again on the website or other school documents. Honestly, they probably have no idea that this is taking place. I think that school photographers are probably told to highlight diversity. If moms are taking photos, they'll be inclined to include their kids or their kid's friends (it is what they know). Just let people in the administration know that you're concerned about the pattern! |
| Can I shed some light? The photographer is a communications person who has no idea who the kids are and is looking for happy, engaged looking children who are a diverse mix. Also this photographer probably does this every third day or something thirty minutes before he or she heads to lunch. My guess is this is not an affront to your child but a case of the right place at the right time. Don't worry! |
| I've also noticed that some kids seem to be featured more often, but I have to admit they're very photogenic. They have great smiles, and they're facially expressive. They naturally look excited or focused or just relaxed. My kids are not that comfortable about being photographed. I'm not surprised that they don't show up as often since it's harder to get good pictures of them. |
I'm pretty sure the OP was talking about the internal part of the website that is only for current students, not the public website that is for the general public. Most schools have a place on the internal site where teachers, parents, or classroom volunteers can post pictures from classroom activities or trips. I know my kid's school has this, but I think the teacher does a good job trying to get some pictures of all the kids. When I have attended events, I know the pictures I send to the teacher to post are mostly of my kid and his friends. Maybe some parents are sending in more pictures than others. |
|
| You're child may not be photogenic. I'm not either. It's OK. |
| Did you inadvertently sign a waiver regarding not allowing photographs? |
NOPE: The OP's Post. Note the statement " I went to the school website " ( not the classroom page) and " I see that the school photographer" ( not the teacher) is the one being accused : [Post New]02/27/2016 00:29 Subject: Why are there no pictures of my kid at their school?
