ECNL moving to school year not calendar

This whole thread is like a lava lamp of topics. Everything goes away and come back again. I think we’re 2-4 pages away from ECNL publishing something but everyone thinking it’s a leak.

ECNL will start the change asap. No way they will wait 26. They will immediately get the best Q3/Q4 from GA to replace their mediocre Q1/Q2 ECNL players. Then ECNL will have the strongest grade team for college recruiting. Once this change is done, ECNL will increase from 78% to 90% or more D1 recruiting. The other 10% will be divided by GA and RL. GA will become 2nd league after all the best Q3/Q4 leave.

Same concern I have. My daughter is U12. So next year 11v11 and chance of platform team for it all to change again. They should have just ripped the band aid off for fall 2025. I don’t see how this could be difficult

100% ECNL will increase their D1 recruiting significantly.

It is foolish to delay it for another year. Let's wait for ECNL's announcement on their plan for 25/26.

Anyone reading these 350 pages but claiming someone else is over obsessed is laughable. We're all over obsessed. We're all investing way too many resources into a pay to play system but we know that information is key so we're all here trying to figure out what's best for our kids and deep down we all want an advantage. Who's the pathetic one you self loathing weirdo?

We will find out by end of January if ECNL will make any adjustments for Fall 25. I do not think it will be a major change.

ECNL will make the change and announce in the Spring. Quietly put things and play and then announce after the last ECNL tournament. Tryouts will be massive and GA instead of being equal with RL, with then drop further down the line below DPL. I think the best thing for GA is to merge with DPL

Agree, this shift to SY is MAJOR win for ECNL. They pushed for this. They signaled they wanted it. They threatened to go alone if anyone else dare deny them. This blows away any illusion of who is running US Soccer and GA has a legitimacy problem. Speaking for myself, my daughter is pre-ECNL and is sought after by GA and ECNL teams. I was considering GA a few weeks ago. Now I'm all in on ECNL. I perceive it to be the destination league for talent and the best long term option for my daughter who is college bound. The only reason I have that perception is their major SY win.

Yup! Thanks to this forum I've become the go-to parent for insights and breaking news for my SoCal club team. The constant bickering and infighting is more entertaining than it should be and once I sift through the trash, the insights here have been dead right all along. Its clear which parents have facts clothed in wishes and who actually has information to share. The reason I'm sticking around is to figure out what ECNL is going to do for 2025. Lots of opinions and lots of certainty but if you read closely the crystal ball becomes clearer. Definitely coming here for information!
