Someone embedded an incredibly graphic photo of a child on page 9 of the thread in off topic about the gun store opening in Arlington. It turned my stomach and I can't un-see it now. I don't know the TOS here but I've never seen anything like it here. Can you delete or at least take a look? |
Thanks. I removed the photos.

It was a re-enactment at an elementary school. Fake blood. |
Why did you remove ALL of the photos, Jeff? Not cool! |
Thank you Jeff. |
Here is a link to the article:
http://www.heraldguide.com/details.php?id=14517 It was a school project. "School shooting simulation wins national award Jonathan Menard July 25, 2014 at 10:37 am Every step is taken to make sure that the active shooter drill seems as real as possible, which includes having murdered or injured students. Every step is taken to make sure that the active shooter drill seems as real as possible, which includes having murdered or injured students. A drill that mimics a school shooting – complete with students covered in fake blood and SWAT team members armed with weapons – has received a national award. St. Charles Parish Public Schools was given the 2014 National School Safety Award for its active shooter drill. The drill is held every other year in partnership with the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office and several other local and state agencies." |
It won a national safety award. But gets deleted off of DCUM. Nice. |
the others were screen grabs from news reports. girls consoling each other, etc.
why were they deleted? |
The thread is about a gun shop. Posting photos of shootings are similar to posting photos of aborted fetuses in a thread about Planned Parenthood. I would (and have) removed those as well. If your only method of opposing a gun shop is to use photos of school shootings, you have pretty much lost the argument. And, I say that as someone who fully supports extremely strict gun control.

Fair enough, but I was just sharing why I personally was so opposed to this gun shop popping up right in our neighborhood. Specifically, the promotion of gun culture right across the street from a daycare seemed over the top given endless gun violence and failed attempts at gun control. It's so frustrating that no one seems to take gun violence seriously - especially those with guns! Also, I didn't share anything that wasn't on the news or in a newspaper. Really NOT the same thing as aborted fetuses, but it is your website so I guess we play by your rules... |
Yeah, pretty much. |
sorry that school safety projects are too much for you to handle - maybe that should say something about our society as a whole |
