What shoes would you wear in Disney?
We are leaving this week and I don't know if I should wear sneakers or flip flops. I am afraid it will be too hot for sneakers. Any ideas? thanks! |

Are you going to ride rides? I wouldn't wear flip flops if you do. They can fall off easily. I personally would wear sneakers, but my feet never get hot/uncomfortable.
I like Privo shoes for comfort. They are not super-cool looking and I'm sure many on here would say they are frumpy. They are made by Clarks and very comfortable for lots of walking. Here are some of their sandals. http://privo.zappos.com/n/es/d/722264480/page/1.html |
| Sneakers, definitely. |

I was there for a week last year - wore my Birkinstocks every day - love my Birks!

| Why not Tivas? Waterproof, and they'll stay on too. |

I spent a week at Disney in my Keen Bali sandals and never had a blister! The only ride that I took them off for was for Soarin' at Epcot.

| If you're trying to decide between sneakers and flip flops, definitely sneakers. But, if you are looking for other alternatives, there are some great comfortable sandals out there, which I think would be much better than either sneakers or flip flops. I love my Tevas. |

birkenstocks, keens--your feet will be hot in sneakers and uncomfortable if you go on a water ride (there are lots of rides where you get seriously splashed)
I would avoid flip flops as I definitely saw people who had buy new shoes after their flip flops flew off on a ride. |

I vote for sneakers. I'm about 35, and can't imagine all that walking without proper support in my shoes. My back and knees would be killing by the end of the first day if I wore flip flops or any other non-supportive shoe. That being said, my mother-in-law (age 60+) was with us last time we went, and wore flip flops the whole time. She said it didn't bother her in the least.
I don't see the heat as a major issue since every other part of your body will be hot and sweaty. |

I was there two weeks ago and wore my flip flops and very comfy gladiator sandals. The only ride where your flip flops might fall off is Soarin' at Epcot and I just took my flips off.
If you are comfy in flip flops or sandals (and know they are comfy), wear them. I did throw some band-aids in my backpack in case anybody got a blister. Luckily we didn't have to use them! Have fun! |
| i wore flip flops but had my kid wear sneakers |
PP here (05/19/2009 18:43) and I'm 46, have had lots of orthopedic surgery on knees and ankles -- and still, my Keen's worked wonderfully. My best advice would be not to wear anything new. Break any pair of shoes (sneakers/Tevas/Keens) in first. |
| Speaking of being tired of walking, I was jealous by folks having one of those ECV's (powered cart) in Epcot . They seemed to be everywhere. |
