Infertility Support and Discussion
| I recently switched to SG and am about to start an IVF cycle (already started BCPs actually). My RE told me I was approved for shared risk, but the nurse and financial guy said that I have to do a mock embryo transfer first. The financial guys said that 98-99% of people "pass" the embryo transfer and are approved for shared risk if everything else (blood work, age etc) looks good. Does anyone know what they are looking for in the mock transfer that might exclude someone from shared risk. Even though it's a tiny chance, it has me a bit worried -- esp because during my IUIs (which were done at another clinic) the nurse always said my cervix was in a weird place(?!?!). Thanks!!!! |

They do the mock transfer to make sure that the shape of your uterus or cervix won't be an issue when they go in to transfer the eggs. During this procedure they will usually find out if there will be a problem.
I'm sure it won't be an issue.... |

Try not to worry (I know ...easier said than done). Mock transfer is the easiest thing you'll go through. They'll be "done" before you realize its started. Its just to make sure there aren't any unexpected issues. I'm sure you'll do fine.
BTW - when I had it done, my RE decided to smooth out the edges of the inside passage of my cervix to ensure everything would go fine later. That was no big deal either. All went smoothly and our first IVF worked. Good luck |
