Only 4 follicles on left side...

...none on the right. Three of the 4 are 16mm and one is 12. If the 12 looks like it is catching up, egg retrieval on Saturday. If not, we will go for the other 3 on Friday. Has anyone had success in a similar set of circumstances? I'm trying to keep from feeling too low.

Like my RE told me, "you only need one!" He was right in my case. I had only 2 on my right side (but had 7 on the left...I also have PCOS so this is low for my circumstance).

I personally have a girlfriend that was about to cancel her cycle to save meds. She called me for advice and I told her to follow her gut. She moved forward and only had 1-2 retrieved and only 1 make it to a blast on day 6. That blast is now a healthy happy 3 yo girl.

Thanks, PP. It is great to hear these two stories. Fingers crossed for tomorrow. We will do Icsi and three day transfer if all goes according to plan.

I had only 4 follicles on my right side and got BFP on my first IVF at age 40. 4 eggs were retrieved of which 2 made it to transfer.

I have a baby boy.

Thanks. This is OP and I had a tough day. Three retrieved and I am in lots of pain tonight. The doc said my lining is no good, so we are going to freeze and try a natural cycle transfer if my little embryos can survive a freeze and thaw.

Stories of success help a lot. Congrats on your baby boy. I really appreciate how you took the time to post and encourage.

PP here. Hang in there OP. Stay positive. You are in my prayers.

I had a cancelled cycle because I really only had one follicle growing the first time. The second time they could only retrieve 6 eggs (my body really only wants to produce one egg at a time!), but two were immature. 3 made it to day 5. Two of the three have turned into babies and the third is still on ice. You definitely can have success! Also, from what I've heard, this will make your egg retrieval less painful!

Thanks, PP. It sounds like you have strong embryos once they are formed. I hope to have a similar story to tell one day. Thanks for posting.
