| DC is turning 6yrs and I am trying not to overdo it this year. |
| Less than $50. She got a board game and 2 art kits this year. (5 years old.) We don't really go big for birthdays in terms of gifts. |
| $100 |
| Depends on the year, but we usually just purchase one gift. I'd say $35-$75 depending on the year and the idea that I have. This year, my 6 year old got a Wii game (Mario Kart). Last year I signed him up for spring soccer and so he opened a soccer ball, shin guards, and a water bottle because he was going to be playing soccer for the first time. |

My DD just turned 13 and here's what I bought her:
3 pairs of socks a pair of jeans a t-shirt 3 bras a pair of lounging pants (to wear to sleep & around the house) $14 giftcard to Starbucks $14 giftcard to Forever21 1 cakepop So I spent close to $85. But she desperately needed clothes - her only pair of jeans had a huge rip in the knee, for example. At age six I was probably spending around $30 or less. But I don't really worry about whether I've spent too much or enough or anything. I spend what I can afford and get what she needs with a little of wants. |
| anywhere from $50-100 depending on the year. My DC is about to turn 4 and will receive a trike, doll, and two books. |
| Prob around $50. My kids' bday is really close to Xmas, so we try to come up with just 1-2 gifts. |
| It depends. Does the party itself count? Because that is where most of the money goes. |
No, that doesn't count. Little kids need tangibles. You can get them an aquarium membership, but they need to get something from the gift shop to really grasp that the membership is their gift. |
|
We probably spend around $100-$
200. If we're counting parties then the number goes up. |
| My girls were turning 8 and 10, and I spent around $250 for each kid. I may spend more than most, but if we are out shopping or whatever, and kid says, I want an ipad mini, I want a unicorn toy, I want shopkins, I tell them that I'll add it to their birthday list. So I usually end up with a pretty big list and buy them one big item then usually about 4 smaller ones. We have no family in the area, and we are the only ones that give our kids presents besides ones that they might get if they invite classmates to a party. Grandma does send a check of $200 for each kid's birthday, and that check I apply towards their birthday party. |
| Gifts about $100, party about $600 Age 5. |
| It depends on the year and if there is something we want to give. We usually spend between $200 and $500 on a party/activity. This year, I spent about $30 on a gift. |
