Anyone have/had an infant with an NG or G tube?

My son had an NG tube at 4 weeks and a G tube at 8 months. He's 8 years old now, and still uses the G tube for hydration. I'd be happy to answer questions, or tell you about our experience.

| Hi--I am late in replying, but my daughter has Williams Syndrome, and indicative of that are feeding problems/weight gain issues. She was on an NG tube for 2 months, and we were told a G tube was in her future. My husband said NO and we dedicated our lives for the next 6 months in teaching our child how to eat from a bottle, pushing through and now she takes 8 ozs 4 to 5 times a day! Getting her to eat and even recognize what hungry feels like was the hardest thing I have ever been through in my life, and that includes her 5week NICU stay at birth. Good luck! |
