passport application locator number

does anyone know what to do with the locator number? Whenever I check the status of my passport renewal it says that the passport is being processed, but I am also provided with a locator number... but no link to enter it. Can I get a more accurate response other than " being processed"? and if so, how?

I think on the website they say if you need the passport in 2 weeks or less you can call them with the locator number.

FWIW, they seem to be processing pretty quickly. We applied in person in mid-Jan. and got ours last week without any expediting. Friends who did mail in seem to have gotten it even faster.

Just got mine in April in 3 weeks. Simple adult renewal.

I sent in my application for renewal on April 24, and just received an email today that my passport is ready and I should receive it by June 11.

What you do with the passport locator number.i apply for expedited service on the 7.7.2021 and it's saying in process but I keep calling the numbers that they say we should call for days now and there is no answer.

You can check the status of your passport online. We applied expedited for 3 kids on July 6, and mailed everything priority mail. Received the passports today (7/29).

(I assume you mean you applied in mid JUNE not mid JANUARY, because January would be... not fast).

I applied on June 25th at a post office and it was approved yesterday. Should be back to us pretty soon. We did pay for expediting.
