I'm too lazy to look it up, but I feel like this jacket is similar to another safari style jacket Melania has worn.

I don't hate this outfit, but I don't really like it. It's way to casual for the event, the pants look cheap and there's something very incongruous about the suede shacket and cotton blend crop pants with flats.

I am surprised DT did not scream at her about her casual clothing as he did with Junior not wearing a tie way back when.

Yes, I think that's what it is. If you zoom in, you can see the entire front of his jacket is bulging out in spots.

I'm not convinced a bulletproof vest would bulge out in spots as opposed to looking like a larger and smoother bulge.

Indeed that is… fine and is at the same time one of her best and most appropriate looks ever. I would have gone with a shoe that was almost any color but black, but this is good.
