Has anyone heard yet from DCPS global ed? Wondering if they have sent out acceptances or not.

Yes, I know an Oyster student who was accepted.

How do they notify?

I don't know how they are sending notices. Email or phone we haven't heard of a single kid getting in. Both of my kids were of the right grades to apply and all their friends applied as well, and so far not one has heard they've gotten picked for a trip.

According to the website students were to be notified by 2/19. Acceptances were supposed to be due 2/24.

Sounds like if you were accepted you would have been notified by now. It's Monday, how about you call?

Still hopeful! I am in meetings all morning, as soon as I get a chance I will call. I was just hoping someone could tell me if they emailed the notifications on Friday or mailed a letter. Thanks.

My 11th grader was accepted
My 8th grader was waitlisted.
We heard by email from administrators at their schools.

My 8th grader was accepted. She was notified by her school this afternoon; she was told she needs to decide this evening.

Congrats to her. But wow - nothing like a short turnaround time.

Nothing crazy though. PP knew she wanted to go when she applied, no?

Yes, she did know that she wanted to go. However, students were asked to rate their top 3 choices of destinations in the application. In her notification letter there was no travel information. She said yes, but we still do not know where she will go. Different trips have different dates. Seemed a little strange, but not surprising. Sigh.... Just happy she was accepted. She is very excited.

Congrats! Seems like a great opportunity.
