Softball, anyone?

Anonymous
My daughter plays softball with Cap City Little League, and they've been making great efforts to recruit more girls. Practices are in various locations around DC. Here's a rundown of the various age divisions: http://www.capcityll.org/team_info/divisions/softball_divisions

They often partner with Five Star Athletics to do great clinics, and my daughter's really enjoyed it. (She tried co-ed baseball and wasn't enthusiastic about it.) Registration is open through Feb. 28.

Do they plan to ever venture into travel?

I know this is an old topic, but there is a local/growing organization that uses Previous Division 1 players as coaches in their organization.

BCC Softball will be fielding three travel softball teams for the Fall 2019, Spring/Summer 2020 seasons. Players softball ages are determined by their age on 12/31/2019. We will be holding our travel softball tryouts on the following dates:
Sunday, July 28th - 1:00-4:00pm
Sunday, August 4th - 10:00am - 1:00pm
Walter Johnson HS softball field
All players must attend the tryout whether or not they are currently playing on a BCC travel softball team.
All players must preregister for the tryouts by clicking here.
Coaches for the team will be as follows:
12U - Sarah Meleney
14U - Haley Clements
16U - Emma Mires/Ashley Lesniewski
The professional coaches will be conducting the tryouts and making all roster decisions with the support of the league.
If you have any questions about the tryouts or the program, please email Denise Gorham (travel softball commissioner) at dgorham@bccbaseball.com
