Anyone familiar with anyone entering Holton at 5th grade

even though is not an entry year

Only that they told us they really don't accept any students and they will tell you if they like your DD enough to try again for 6th grade. We went ahead and applied, but have very little hope. We did love the school, though.

Better to start in 6th

My daughter started in 6th but there was a handful of girls that started in 5th. I think maybe 7. It all depends on how the other grades are getting filled or the size of the current 4th grade class.

I think it is a fine year to try and then if you don't get in try 6th grade. My daughter is in upper school now and loves it.

Good Luck!

Heard they could take 5 more girls for 5th grade. Don't know how many are applying though...my DD is in 4th now and is very happy at Holton. Good luck!

I know a few girls who started in 8th grade and did great, and that's a non-entry year. In my DD's class there were 3 or 4.

We were told that there would only be space through attrition and to definitely try again in 6th if no spots. Hoping there will be attrition and we get in. Fabulous school.

There are also siblings applying. They took 5 last year but I think there were more spots available to start with.
