We're looking specifically in Arlington and Falls Church (Ballston children's, Columbia baptist, Kaye kare, st joes) but would love to hear about other schools. Thanks!
We live in MD, not VA, but the preschool/preK room at our day care does not do daily sheets. They do have sheets for the infant, toddler and 2s rooms, but not preschool. It's a shock at first not to know the minutia of the day, but the teachers are great about volunteering important details and answering questions when asked.
The reports got a lot less detailed in the 2s room, and then in the 3s room there were no more individual reports, but the teacher would post updates about what the class had done that day on the bulletin board. Also in Md like PP.
Our preschool has a weekly newsletter with lots of photos and details about what the class did with some specifics about individual children, which is enough. No one has time to write a daily report that has any meat or meaningful content.
My center posted a blog
My MD center does a daily email to parents with highlights and activities and then one sheet at the front of the sign-in/-out binder that lists naps and meals.
CCLC in Ballston does daily sheets for preschool
Daycare centers like Bright Hoizons, CCLC, Kindercare, etc. Do daily reports for their "preschool" programs. Private preschools that are not part of daycare centers typically send news letters weekly.
