| I love love love this show. I watch it every night before I go to bed. I never watched it during it's original run and only started watching the reruns a couple of years ago. Couple of questions, was the last episode when Doug and Carrie were at her fathers wedding and Dough found out Carrie still had her apartment in NYC, right before they found out their was a child available for adoption? If not, how did the show wrap? And why did Carrie move out in the first place, I don't think I ever saw that episode. Also, a few other episodes I haven't seen, did they ever say why the wanted to adopt (was it because Carrie was unable to get pregnant)? Did Deacon and Kelly divorce or did they end up back together? |

It would ruin the fun of seeing it for yourself if someone just told you what happens. The episode you mention is not the last one, it's one of a two or three parts that ended the show. The ending is so cute, but, truly, much more fun to see for yourself!

I know that wasn't the last episode. There was at least one more.
I can't remember now what happened with Deacon and Kelly. I have the DVDs and the early episodes included a sister who we never saw again. She was a big part of those early episodes! |
But I'm just watching repeats, which as far as I can tell play in a very random order. |

There is one episode that I still quote when things get tough. In it, Carrie is hired as part of a fake family to sit and interact in a model home that builders are showing to get people to use them to build. Carrie is the mom and there's a dad and two kids and they do thing like play board games and Carrie bakes cookies and helps with homework and then slowly realizes she likes spending time with her fake family better than being at home.
In all of this, Doug gets into a fight with an ice cream truck driver over something or other. Carrie comes home one night and is in their room trying to talk to Doug about how weird it is she's enjoying being the fake mom so much and Doug interrupts her to throw both of them on the floor and get down when he hears an ice cream truck coming down the street. He checks and says something like "Whew, that was close, he almost got me" and Carrie looks at him and goes "I' need you to give me a reason to stay, Doug." Funniest episode ever. |
| Best was when Doug and the father were getting Carrie drunk every night because she was less bitchy that way. |
OP here, OMG! Just saw this episode a couple of months ago. So funny! |
LOL I love Carrie's father. He makes me laugh all the time! |
| This is to me one of the best casted shows EVER. Each of them just slays their respective role.....LOVE this show! Kevin James is a riot. |
that and when carrie and kelly take stripping classes and carrie stinks at it but thinks she' totally rocking it. giving doug little coupons for free stripteases. THE BEST! |
| I was just going to mention the strip tease episode! Kevin James teaching her how to strip tease still sticks in my mind as the funniest thing ever. |
Yes! And her father is tortured every time he hears the strip tease music playing and tries to spend more time with her because he thinks it's a cry for help. |
YES! |
Random fact: The father on the show (Jerry Stiller) is Actor Ben Stiller's father in real life. Sadly, his wife passed away last year. |
