High School Graduation Cruise

Anonymous
I'm thinking of putting together a 3-6 Caribbean day cruise for DC's closest friends. There would be three to a cabin for about 15-18 kids (17-18 year olds). I will contact a travel agent but I'm wondering about the age requirement for rooms. DH and myself would chaperone.

Has anyone done anything similar? Open to other group uncomplicated travel suggestions. Other than excursions, I like all the ship activities in one place.

Typically there has to be one adult listed per room. Most cruise lines don't care about the sleeping arrangements, but you will need one adult per room (18 or over) listed on the reservation.

OP here. Thanks. That's what I figured after doing some research.

I love Cruise Critic. FYI. Sounds like Holland America might work.

Do you think all the parents will say yes? I can't imagine agreeing to this.

When my kids reached adulthood, and I think 18 is an adult, they went on vacations for which they could afford to pay and plan themselves - unless visiting Grandma.

Depends on the kids and the parents. If there's a group of parents who are friends, why not travel with a group of grads? Moms can hang out while the grads hang out.

Even if the parents said yes the cruise lines will not allow this.

And what is your point? That you're a giant stick in the mud?

Um, why not? They are paying customers. As someone else mentioned there has to be an adult assigned to each room, but if a few moms go, no big deal.

Your poor children...

Yep, just what a bunch of 17-18 year olds want for a graduation party is 15 parents along with 15 young adults. Puh-leeze!!

Ha! I was the pp who pointed out that there has to be an adult assigned to each room. It's just a fact that the parents can be willing to give permission all they want, but the lines won't let this group travel with this configuration. I'm not making this up, I have cruised all over the world with "my poor children." Ass.
