I am looking for random interesting posts today and noticed that most posts on the Off Topic forum are traffic related. Traffic, left lane and blinkers, pedestrians, bikers, how long does it take me to go from A to B on a rainy Tuesday when the moon is on Jupiter... It's all very similarly boring and I feel like it's just cluttering the Off Topic space. |
I've had the idea of a Transportation and Vehicles forum for some time. Not only could we discuss the issues you list, but the "which minivan for 3 kids and a dog" type of question. But, I probably won't make any changes immediately.

Or include it in travel. Travel & transportation |
Can you do a Diet and Weight Change forum? I find that those threads are sprinkled between Food, Health, and Beauty, and Sports when really they're all about losing baby weight and intermittent fasting. |
That would be wonderful! Maybe car recommendations, traffic violations, parking issues, metro closings and delays all could go to this transportation forum. I'd love that. |
or better yet, you could have a forum customized for things that interest me. I would not have to browse things I don't care about. That would be awesome! |
Travel is very different from transportation. But given that DC traffic is a spectator sport, a traffic/commuting forum is a great idea OP |
Kind of like Facebook? Hide this. Show this first. LIKE |
I'd call it "Transit" |
I think a Legal Forum is a good idea.
The questions are sometimes in relationships or off-topic too. |
You should add this. |
It's not a bad idea but I wouldn't call it transit-- that usually means public transportation.
And I wouldn't have a legal forum because I think it's a bad idea to actively encourage people to seek legal advice here (vs people getting random advice on an internet board). |
I think it should be traffic and weather |
Should we just call it WTOP? Or would people think that's a new area of the city they hadn't heard about. (I attend my WTOP school...) |
Jeff doesn't seem too dumb, so he's probably already thought about a legal forum and hesitates at people taking legal advice from non-lawyers or shitty lawyers. Of course he can include a disclaimer in the forum description, but ... |
