Continuing IVF coverage with new insurance company after previous IVF attempts?

Hi -
Has anyone had experience with being able to continue IVF coverage with a new insurance? Were you able to continue to qualify for IVF coverage? Did you start over with three attempts, or just the remaining available attempts? We have had one IVF attempt, which was successful, but I have some reservations about the OB docs at my HMO after a loss fairly late in the pregnancy. FWIW, I don't think it would have changed the outcome, but my OB missed some pretty obvious warning signs of preterm labor, and even told me it was safe to travel. I'll be seeing another OB for my follow up care to see if I feel better about staying, but am also thinking about switching to an insurance company where I can choose my practitioner.
I'm a Fed, if that makes a difference, but I'm basically interested in anyone's experience with this.
