2s program in Potomac - reccos?

Anonymous
Hi, I am looking for a 2s program (for my son who turns 2 in June) in Potomac. Open to 3 day or 5 day morning programs. Just starting this process but when is a good time to start looking (are 2s programs super competitive?) and I would love recommendations on great schools... I am eager to check out Montessori, Reggio, play-based schools in the area... open to other philosophies (Waldorf?) but those are the only ones I have looked at so far. Please tell me what you love and why! TIA

Love Geneva day school. For 2s, it is 2 days a week. Teachers are very loving and school is flexible to work with each child to meet his or her needs. This is our fourth year now with our second child there. We've moved farther away but still drive to Geneva because my kids love it so much!

OP here, thanks! Some school and parental feedback I have gotten is that 2 days is not enough consistency for a 2 year old ... need minimum 3 days.. thoughts? I hear great things about Geneva and have an appt next week but was going to cancel bc it was only 2 days...

Har Shalom in Potomac. My 2 year old is 5 days a week full time. It is a play based, Reggio inspired school. The teachers are top notch, nurturing and creative. I could not be happier!

A former twos teacher here -- for most twos, once they make the adjustment to school and get into the routine, two days a week is just fine.

If you're willing to consider a 2-day option, you might check out Glenbrook Cooperative Nursery School in Bethesda. My kids are in high school now, but we all have such fond memories of it. I couldn't have imagined a better school for my kids.
