| Has anyone used one of these? We are getting ready to buy a new car and have it narrowed down to: buick enclave, GMC Yukon, and a minivan. I'm a terrible negotiator and would love to pay someone to negotiate for me so I don't get fleeced. I'm flexible on timing and willing to drive to pick up, but want to know if the buying service will save any $$ after fees. Would love to hear any BTDT experiences. |
| We looked into it and concluded it would be more expensive than negotiating ourselves. My advice is to narrow in on one vehicle and trim and then negotiate with multiple dealers via e-mail. It is definitely a bit of work but I think worth it. Only go to a dealership once you have a quote in writing and are ready to buy. This worked well for us. |
+1- negotiating by email is much easier than face to face. |
Thanks! |

Just completed a purchase. We knew exactly what we wanted and negotiated with two dealers over email. I finally did the Costco service, and they provided me a written clear breakdown of cost that was $800 lower than anything we had gotten to that point. I then shopped that to the other dealers, and got one of them to come down $400 below the Costco number.
So, Costco saved me $1200 with virtually no work on my part. |
