Any dermatologists online? Question about red skin...

| Hi -- I'm wondering whether I am having some kind of weird allergic reaction to lotion. Every time I put moisturizer on my face it turns a bright, bright red and stings. It's like I am being burned by moisturizer. I've tried the very expensive -- La Mer -- and the very gentle -- Cetaphil for Sensitive Skin -- and I can't imagine what is wrong. I'm in my early 40s and this never happened before now. I've completely stopped using anything but my skin is still red and flaky. TIA. |

| I don't think so, it seems almost like a chemical burn. I was hoping someone would know which ingredient in a lotion can cause this type of reaction so I could steer clear of it. |
