Out of Town Cycling

Anonymous
Looking for advice from anyone who has done out-of-town cycling. I need to figure out how to get my Day 2 blood drawn, frozen and FedEx'd off - where do I go get my blood drawn and where do I find dry ice? I think my Day 2 will be on a Sunday, and I'm not sure Quest or LabCorp would be open then.

Also, I would likely have my first 7 days of my cycle monitored locally - does anyone have any recommendations of good clinics for that? Has anyone done price comparisons? I probably could do it with SG, but I think they are bit pricey and I'm not sure about how well weekend monitoring would go (relying on a random nurse whose name I don't know to send out my information).

Thanks!

I cycled at St. Barnabas and was monitored locally by Dr. Nancy Durso. I did not have to ship blood samples, etc., as all the labwork was done here.

I do my labwork locally also. There's no reason to do otherwise. 10:08, where is Dr. Durso located? I was starting monitoring with SG and I'm a little shocked at their prices and the factory-like attitude. Ugh. . . .

Is there a way to delay your cycle? I did that once - took promitrium for one extra week because I had to go out of town. Anohter possibility is to take the pill on the prior cycle if you are not doing anything like IUI or IVF.

If OP is cycling out of town at Cornell or CCRM they require that you send them blood tubes on day 2/3. They won't take results from a local RE or local lab. They don't trust anyone's FSH results but their own.

OP here. Yes, this may be for either Cornell or CCRM - haven't decided what I'm doing yet, but Cornell wants me to send them blood for their initial analysis. I think for days 2-7 cycling, before I have to go to NYC, they'll accept bloodwork done locally.

I don't know about CCRM, but Cornell took results from my local RE (Dr. Durso). We were under the care of one of their partner urologists (Peter Schlegel) which may have helped maters, but we were able to have blood testing done locally.

Sorry -- I'm the PP who said there's no need to do otherwise. I didn't realize some clinics require this. Apologies!
