Chapstick or lip treatment

Anonymous
My lips are horribly cracked and chapped. I currently use Aquaphor Lip Repair but it doesn't even seem to be helping. Is there something better?? Only requirement is that it must be Fragrance Free!

Thank you!!

Carmex at night. Not fragrance free but you are past being picky. Also drink a gallon of water!

Aquaphor seals moisture in. If your lips are dry, it's not adding moisture.

Try fresh sugar lip scrub. It will remove the dead skin and add moisture. Then add a layer of something moisturizing--something with oils like fresh sugar advanced therapy. THEN put on Aquaphor to seal the moisture in.

I am allergic to many fragrances so it will actually make my lips worse.. It stinks.. Ready to move south to the warm weather.

Alba "un-petroleum" - mostly castor oil (NOT petroleum products) and lots of extra water and herb tea- even if you have to get up at night to pee!

The key for me is applying the product very frequently.

You might also look into a moisturizing lip mask. I sometimes apply the mask before bed and then Vaseline right before going to sleep. I keep Chapstick on my bedside table in case I wake up in the middle of the night and want to reapply. Vaseline after washing my face in the am, and something moisturizing again frequently throughout the day.

I also agree that you need to apply it very frequently during the day and right before you go outside. Also avoid salty foods and drink plenty of water. Blot your lips with a wet towel after eating and then reapply the lip balm.

Carmex works wonders although I'm not a huge fan of the scent - it's kind of a medical/menthol scent. If you want to spend more money, Hourglass' nourishing oil lip treatment is AMAZING and has lasted me a year with near daily usage. Sara Happ's the lip scrub (I use the sparkling grapefruit version) is a great exfoliator.

Boudreaux's Baby Kisses - same brand as but paste.

This stuff i magic!

Other option - Lanolin - yes the nursing stuff.

Kiehl's lip balm works best for me. Aquaphor is second best. I also have cracked dry lips, a remnant from using Accutane 15 years ago.

Coconut oil on first. Then slather on vaseline/aquaphor.

Drink a gallon of water. Plug in a humidifier.

I've heard good things about Burt's bees.

Also will say sleep next to a humidifier. It will help enormously. I haven't had chapped lips since I started doing this. That and Aquaphor= magic combination.

Make sure you're drinking enough water. Chapstick can't help out there

Aveda chapstick is the best ever. But it does have natural fragrance, smells like mint.
