Hiring a private aide to go to public school with my DC

Hello,

My DC is attending Kindergarten at a great public school in the Fall. Her Speech Language Pathologist suggests the need of a classroom aide to help with slow processing issues and the impact that has on social situations. The public school system is not going to provide this because my DC is very high functioning. Where would I look for this type of aide? Any suggestions?

The Lab School (in DC) has a training program for special ed aides. You might call them for a referral.

Do you have a sense of how much time this will involve or how much it would cost? I would be very interested in what you uncover. I also have a DC entering K who could use a full-time classroom aide. There are some hours available from Special Ed, but I don't think this is necessarily sufficient.
