For people who say weights will not bulk you up....

Look at Jen the trainer on Biggest Loser. She's clearly very fit, but big. She's a beautiful girl but proof positive that weights can make some girls big. Big arms and big legs.

It's not the weights, per se. It's the combination of weights and eating a lot of protein (and a lot of calories) to gain strength.

She is super fit and she is not big. However, I don't prefer a rail-thin body. Her stats are 5'7" and 136.

Do you know how fucking hard you would have to work to be as hot, I mean, "bulky," as this chick? I mean really. Worry about that if you ever start to actually look like her.

She dedicates her life to working out. Bulking up on muscle is not a danger for women who don't set out to bulk up.

LOL yes, she's huge. Go back to your anorexia if you think skinny looks better than this.

Weights will bulk you up IF YOU WANT THEM TOO. The point to most women is it doesn't happen accidentally. You have to work very hard at it and make sure you ingest enough calories and protein to build the muscle.

And if that is your idea of big there is something very wrong with you.

1. So?
2. She likely takes protein supplements and works out for hours a day (not to mention any other "supplements" that might be in there).

The average person is not going to accidentally bulk up. It takes months of very hard work where you are actively doing everything you can do get bigger. Sorry you can't hack it at the gym, OP, but this isn't an excuse to quit.

If that's big then I am Godzilla and it's time to go stomp on some buildings.

She looks amazing.

I'm one of those people who gets pretty muscular. If my eating habits are not great, I get fat in top of the muscle and I look bulky. If I'm eating really cleanly, I'm mostly lean muscle. I work out daily, though- alternating lifting and running, with yoga also in the mix. I'm not built to be truly skinny or curvy, so for me, muscular is my best look.

Of course it will bulk you up, if you eat for muscle gain and lift like a bodybuilder.

But there are 2 different kinds of bulk - the kind you mention and the people that look like freaks.

To look like a freak - you would need drugs..

I recently lost weight and got in shape. I'm 5'5" 130 lbs and a size 4. Lifting weights helped me get tone and rid of flab. I'm not bulky.

That's considered "bulky"? Uh, what?

She looks fit. Strong, but not overly muscular at all - not even close. What kind of weirdo is afraid of getting bulky from lifting weights, with her as their reference?

Yeah, I think I will skip the gym today because I don't want to take any chances that I will end up looking like that.

She looks good, but anyone who thinks she's not on some kind of PED is kidding themselves.
