How popular is Audrey?

My DH is stuck on this name for DD #2. It's a lovely name, but I'm afraid it's gotten way too common. Thoughts?

Audrey Hepburn or the name, Audrey?

I have 2 kids - ages 5 and 3. They have been in daycare/preschool/elementary since they were babies (DC area). One facility has about 100 families. I'm pretty sure I haven't encountered a single Audrey. But we have one Audrey in the family - she is age 1 and lives in MA.

I know a few who are middle school aged. No little ones.

I love this name! I haven't heard it anywhere. I'm sure it's in the top 100, but no where near the top.

I know one.

In 2014, Audrey was #36 (between Leah and Ariana), with 5,531 baby Audreys (0.285% of baby girls born in the US in 2014).

Only you can decide if that is "too popular".

Sigh.............another name quandary...........so interesting.

Audrey is #36 nationally (was #33 in 2013), so more popular than Ariana, Allison, Savannah, Arianna, Camila, Penelope, Gabriella, Claire. It isn't in the top 5 for any state.

In VA, it is tied for #39 with Allison. It is more popular than Peyton, Claire, Kennedy, Mackenzie, Madelyn, Eleanor, and Sarah.

In DC, it is tied for #44 with Aubrey (fittingly!), Camila, Hannah, Khloe, and Morgan. That makes it more popular than Alice, Allison, Ariana, Cora, Harper, Mary, and Penelope.

In MD, it is "only" tied for #70, along with Annabelle, Brooke, Eleanor, and Eva.

Between all our friends, our old daycare center, our new preschool -- I know one five-year-old, one newborn, and one thirty-something mom. I like the name.

I know one under 2, but she doesnt live in this area. It's less popular than Olivia or Sophie!

Well, I am totally biased because it's my name and I love it. I've only ever met two other Audreys in my life and haven't met any little ones with the name.

Nothing wrong with a common name? Choose what you like.

There are no "Jennifers" today. Even the most popular names don't approach that sort of saturation.

I know several baby Audreys. It's one of the more common names in my cohort it seems.

I do think it's a really lovely name though. I'd go for it if you really like it. It's a classic.
