From HBO:

Announcing the follow-on series in August 2021, HBO said: “The next chapter of The White Lotus leaves Hawaii behind and follows a different group of vacationers as they jet to another White Lotus property and settle in temporarily amongst its inhabitants.”

Ooh good catch!! I thought it was odd that he could afford this place. I’m going to rewatch to look for the clues that he wasn’t even a guest but looking for a rich single woman.

That's interesting. I also thought it was bizarre that he would go to a fancy resort, by himself, and spend thousands of dollars when he's a guy on a government salary. It would seem to be way out of his price range.

He is dying. Not so worried about the expense of what could be his last vacation.

Dying doesn’t account for the weird room number coincidence. Also how was their an open room when Armand said the hotel was full? Is this just poor writing? As I understand it, season 2 will have a different storyline.

I didn’t catch this. But his entire presence seemed off. I love the idea he was squatting at the hotel!

Yes, I came back to check on this thread and perplexed to find that this debate means so much to some people!

I am on the Alexandra Daddario isn't that hot train. Plenty attractive to be an actress (which she is obviously doing successfully), but I don't get all the rage over her. Ridiculously attractive actresses in my book include in no order: Kate Beckinsale, Monica Bellucci, Thandie Newton, Marisa Tomei, Jennifer Lopez, Hallie Berry, Sarah Shahi, Marion Cotillard, Carla Gugino. I can go on and on, but these ladies jump off the screen in my opinion and I don't get that from Alexandra Daddario. I am much more attracted to Connie Britton and absolutely loved her in Friday Night Lights. She is getting up there (but so am I).

On a side note - Molly Shannon gives another great performance, she is a criminally underrated actress.

For those that want to continue the discussion of Alexnadra Daddario being hot or not, can you start your own spin-off thread?

It's getting hard to wade through the actual discussion of the show with all these posts going back and forth discussing her looks.

+1000 Love her and it was so great to see her on the screen again. I looked at her Wiki page and was surprised to see she's been consistently working in both television and film. Feels like I haven't seen her in anything for years.

Most of them have no jobs, no hobbies, just their kids and grey haired dopey looking receding hairline husband, sit in their dirty houses that they don’t clean, watch TV and Netflix and eat snacks until it’s time to wander over to the school for pick up. Then they stand around with their arms folded in their sweatpants and t-shirts nodding at each other and say “my house is a mess and my husband is away on a business trip. Wah!” It’s fun to rip on a random actress that they don’t know, it gives them something to do.

Um, do you have a job or hobbies? Might want to refocus on them.

Rachel and whatever the douchey husband's name is.

In addition, to being douchey, that guy was not cute at all. Yes, he was in good shape, but his face was hideous, as was his sense of style. I can't imagine what, besides money, drew Rachel to him.

This is precisely why they’re both perfectly cast. They’re the best the other can do. They’d be otherwise unremarkable people were it not for their incredible wealth. I think this is what she realizes about herself before rejoining him at the airport.

I agree. He had no redeeming qualities. A prior pp commented that he really loved her and it showed when she left him. I disagree. I only remember him ever commenting on her looks and I think when she told him she was leaving his response was more about feeling humilated and like a failure as opposed to losing the love of his life.

She wasn't wealthy though. She would have met a nice simple man and lived a nice simple life. I guess she decided, in the end, she wanted the life of a wealthy "trophy wife" after all. hahahahaha That line from the mother still cracks me up.

I really wanted to love this show based on how much everyone raved about it. I just think it had high aspirations and it failed on every level. It wasn't funny or mysterious at all.

They killed the best character of all. Did I miss something?

I need to know how you feel about Ted Lasso before I can comment.
