When you ski, you.know that you are responsible for not colliding with people in front of you. It's the rule. It's posted on large signs everywhere. It's in the waiver you sign when you buy your lift ticket.
I don't know if there's legal precedent, but it'd be understandable to sue someone who caused a collision due to skiing recklessly and irresponsibly in a slow zone. But that wasn't the case here. If he was behind her, even IF she accidentally cut him off, he's the one who is responsible for avoiding her. If she had been skiing fast and out of control, witnesses would have noticed. |
But it would have actually been classier if she just left him alone. This wasn’t some sporting competition where you shake hands at the end. She kind of made it about her. But I guess she would probably be criticized either way. |
Not how this works. Legal fees are decided at a later date. |
Sorry ladies, this is just too unintelligent. But carry on amongst yourselves dears. Maybe you could shop on Goop to celebrate.

You're on the entertainment forum along with everyone else, genius. |
Is this cartoon supposed to be GP? |
Where does it say this? So the jury doesnt decide the legal fees? |
It is truly hilarious that someone too stupid to grasp the essentials of an easy example of a frivolous lawsuit is calling others unintelligent. |
Umm, he sued her and claimed she ruined his life? Pretty sure it was, by definition, about her. |
Ugh. People say such stupid things with no knowledge. Legal fees are handled entirely separately. Jury found him 100% at fault. She’ll get attorneys fees. |
I bet he'll do a gofundme and get those fees from the GP haters here. |
The judge ruled earlier that they would have another hearing on it after the verdict, if the verdict went for GP. Apparently, in Utah, you have to prove that the plaintiff sued in bad faith to be rewarded attorney fees. The attorneys will need to prepare and argue those elements before the judge, not another jury, I've been home sick for two days so yup, I've been watching |
Ya think? If she had simply walked past him without saying a word, the haters would have seized on that, saying moronic things like, "Look at her, too good to even say a kind word to him! So full of herself!" She really can't win. I think she handled it very nicely and was brave enough to speak to him. I probably would have avoided all contact with him because I hate confrontation. But she was very poised and mature. Good for her.

My thoughts exactly. Damned if she does, damned if she doesn't. |
No. He can declare bankruptcy. |
