He must be serving someone's interests that helped put him in this position, but is clearly not about the people of district 3. They are just pawns to be used in whatever this game is about.

Mcarthy can’t do anything. Santos could call for a new speaker vote - under the ridiculous new rules - and McCarthy needs senators vote. Mutually assured destruction. So mcarthy will do NOTHING. The only thing that will get him out is being sentenced to jail for his crimes. He won’t resign once indicted. He will take his salary, hire friends and relatives and do no work. Just grift as much as he can, probably court trump (he needs a pardon, so he will court trump and ther other Florida man).

On the plus side - senators grift does shine a bright light on how people monetize running for office. It can apparently be a great scam.
