FET after failed fresh IVF cycle -- timing?

Anonymous
Can anyone tell me about the timing of a FET after a failed fresh IVF cycle? I have Googled, and people say 6 weeks to 2 months. I am scheduling work travel and want to be sure I'm not planning on being out of town for any important dates. (And I understand that you can schedule FET around travel, but I don't want to do that. I want to go ahead with transfer as soon as I can.) So starting with a negative pregnancy test, what happens next, and when do you need to be in town?

You need to talk to your clinic about the schedule. At SG, for example, the dates were determined by when they had available slots, not based on medical timing. They then put you on BCPs for the length of time needed to sync up with their availability. FWIW, I was on BCPs for 2 weeks before starting meds with one and 4 weeks before another, then the meds for a couple of weeks, and then transfer.

I did a freeze all for pgs testing. My retrieval was end of October and my transfer will be end of January. Lost some time waiting for testing results, but I just finished 19days of bcps. At shady grove.

I was able to start on my second menstrual cycle. The first cycle we planned based on the dates of my first, then began the protocol with my next cycle.

Op- are you saying you already retrieved and had some frozen? Or you need to cycle again? If the former, SG gave me 6-8 week timeframe Btwn retrieval and txfr. That incl Pgs testing. I pushed for shorter but they need at least 4 so you have a period and I think their scheduling is tight.

Thank you!

I had a freeze all cycle for PGS testing. Retrieval was mid December and I am scheduled for an early February transfer with SG.

My fresh cycle failed so after the beta I started bcp. I want to say that I started around July 20 and my transfer was Aug 24th. I was at SG.

Keep in mind that Jan/Feb is a very busy time of year for fertility clinics because that is when lots of people are going because of new insurance plans that start Jan 1.

I think at SG the fastest possible is 5ish weeks - requiring minimum of 14 days on BCP, and then 2ish weeks of del estrogen shots + days to transfer (after the progesterone starts). That's what mine was. Other clinics may run differently, certainly one that does a natural cycle will run differently (I know some don't make you wait at all, and then you're only 2-3 weeks out from IVF failure, depending on when you ovulate).
