How did your sophomore do on the PSATs?

Trying to get some perspective here...

550 Reading and Writing, 540 Math for mine. Seems kind of meh (it will get her into college, but not necessarily top tier?), but I'm just looking for some perspective.

1220 combined. They have 18 months to get better, deep breath

220 selection index => 1470 raw.
Met expectations, as DC is a very strong test-taker.

460/470 for mine but he left a fair amount blank. He will get extended time on the real thing so i think he will be able to finish and bring his scores up.

How come he didn't have extended time for this exam? Did the College Board not get back to him in time for accommodations? We only have an 8th grader, but he'll need accommodations, and I'm wondering what's in store for him.

1490 (not sure of the breakdown).

We didn't submit an application. Since the exam didn't count for anything I didn't ask for the time.

Scores are available online at the College Board website. Your child has to register for an account. I think most schools will distribute paper copies of the scores at a later date.

1220-- 600 R/W, 620 M. DS was pretty disappointed by that score but that's because he runs with a competitive crowd. I told him it's a very good starting point for a test taken cold. Another year of maturity alone should add some points, and some solid prep should do the rest to get him a score he wants. He has friends who walked in and pulled 1400+ scores so he's feeling down on himself. I try telling him it's pointless comparing himself to others, but it falls on deaf ears.

Did any of your children take the ssat? If so, what was the correlation like?

It'll seep in eventually, and he's got to be glad to know you have confidence in him
