VPN?

Most of the time, when I use our VPN, I can't get the DCUM webpages (I have to disconnect). This is even if I'm VPN'd to the US.. is this on purpose? thanks..

Go here:

http://whatismyipaddress.com

when you are connected via VPN and determine your IP address. Then, hit "report" on this post and send me your address. I'll check if it is blocked for some reason.

It is also possible that the company you are connecting to blocks this site

OP,

I unblocked the range that includes your address. However, there are a couple of issues with that address block. Those addresses are pretty sketchy. Also, there are some Tor addresses in that range and I frequently block Tor (the addresses change a lot and I don't update frequently, but I am at least blocking an older list of addresses). So, that is to say that if troublemakers are using those addresses, I may block them again. If so, you'll just have to let me know again because I probably won't make the connection to you at that point.

Thanks! That did the trick.. should I be concerned that this VPN service uses as you said "sketchy" IP addresses?

No, unless there are other websites that you visit that also are quick to block such address ranges. But, I don't think that is very common. I have to do that because we don't require logins.

Someone just reported their VPN address that is blocked. That address is in a range that has been the source of lots of troublemaker. As such, I don't want to unblock it. You will need to turn off your VPN when you connect to DCUM. We are using SSL so your connection will be encrypted anyway.

That was me! The VPN address changed when I reconnected to it anyway.

I have a lot of Israeli family and friends who can’t get onto this site as per routine. I don’t know why.

I block foreign IP addresses from which spam has been posted. As a result, I've blocked huge numbers of Israeli addresses.

What other countries seem to have a lot of spam?
