Just curious. I have seen an ad on here for an autographed gun from Ted Cruz, as well as a pic of Obama in a helmet, saying "Obama wants to take all your guns." I thought the ads were influenced by other sites I've visited, through cookies or something. Often, my shopping search history shows up as a recommended item.
But neither of those things (Ted Cruz, anti gun-control) is remotely related to my search history. |
Google knows you better than you know yourself. You are secretly a gun-loving Cruz supporter!
Seriously, while some advertising is aimed at reflecting your interests and therefore is influenced by other sites that you have visited, things for which you have searched, etc., other ads target you based on advertisers' preferences. One prominent right-wing website obviously targets DCUM's demographic because I see their ads constantly. I don't know if that website is unaware of the political leanings of our demographic, or is very hopeful of making conversions. |
lol. Thank you for the explanation. ![]() |
I am getting ads for the Washington Wizards and I have no clue who they are or what they do. |
I think it's a reference to Congress, but I'm not positive. I guess you could google it. |
I find if I search for something, I get adds. For example, earlier today I searched for hotels in Cocoa Beach, and now I have and add for joining the metro transit police, Cocoa Beach hotels, and Omni Link. I have no idea why the transit police is on there. I mean, I am probably to old etc. But I am a strong supporter of Veterans, and they are targeting them.
When I buy tickets to Nats games, I see Nats adds.. |
