Need 2 spots for 3 year olds for the fall

Anonymous
Our nanny has decided to move and we are now in a bind since all of the preschool admissions are done for the 2009-2010 school year. We are considering putting them in FT preschool (although we'd love 2 or 3 full days) and find in home childcare for the other days to ease them into school. Are there any schools in the Bethesda, Silver Spring, NW/NE DC area that still have spots for 2 3 year olds? We are open to any suggestions (except religious based schools.)

CommuniKids Preschool in Tenleytown has space available in their language immersion preschool for the fall. For more information visit www.communikidspreschool.com.

I know you said no religious based schools, but Christ Episcopal Church has a great preschool program in Rockville. It doesn't have any religion classes. No uniforms at that age either. They might still have openings.

I know that All Saints in Chevy Chase has openings for 3s. It's a brand new preschool starting in the fall. I don't know about full-day care, though. Have you also tried Westmoreland Children's Center? The 2s waitlist is very long, but you never know with 3s.

I think Auguste Montessori might have some spaces

All Saints is faith based.

Where do you live? Would you be interested in a nanny?

OP here. Thank you for all of your suggestions. Now that the shock has died down, I do think that we are just going to hire another nanny.

PP we live at the intersections of Montgomery/PG/Howard Counties. Do you have someone in mind?

Hi, I am founder of Chevy Chase Reggio, one of the first Reggio-Emilia based preschool/daycare programs in Chevy Chase or Bethesda. We have openings for the summer and fall for 2 and 3 year olds. CCR follows a wonderful method developed in Reggio-Emilia Italy which is well known in Europe and gaining popularity with educators and parents in the U.S. We have open houses on Wednesday May 13 and Saturday May 16. Please visit www.ChevyChaseReggio.com for more information.

If you're still considering preschools, definitely look at Rockville Community Nursery School!! Great program, wonderful community of families, excellent teachers, lots of flexibility in terms of the class combinations they offer, very affordable.
