Anyone have Pottery Barn sheets with the easy care finish?
I'm wondering just how smooth and soft they are out of the dryer? I hate having to iron my sheets and would love it if these truly emerge from the dryer smooth. Thanks! |
| I just bought some from PB Kids, and they seem to come out of the dryer fairly smooth. BUT they have quite a pronounced gasoline-type smell, which I hope will disappear by the time I've washed them 10-12 times (which I'm doing at the moment, before I put them on anyone's bed). Martha Stewart sheets apparently had a similar problem. Frankly, I wish I had bought the boring but safe organic sheets. |
| PP here. After washing the sheets all weekend, I find they no longer smell. But now they look fairly rumpled when they come out of the dryer. Possible that I'm stuffing too much in there, but I have a lot of new sheets to wash! |
| Doesn't it worry you that the sheets smell(ed) like gasoline? Sometimes those wrinkle free/easy care products contain nasty chemicals. |
| Well, duh, that's why I've washed them about a million times. And as I said, I wish I had bought the organic ones in retrospect, but these are the ones we have now. |

OP here. Thanks PP. To make sure I'm understanding correctly, the gasoline smell does wear off but takes with it the smoothness?
I think I'll just continue to iron the sheets and go with something organic as well. My problem is sometimes I get very large, deep creases in my sheets (all are 400+ thread count) that are impossible to get out by ironing. I suppose I could go get them pressed but they're sheets! |
