Traveling to the Bay Area/CA with my family

Anonymous
Hello all,

I'm traveling to the San Francisco Bay Area in March with my family. We are looking for a hotel that has a suite with a separate bedroom for the kids to sleep, and preferably a kitchenette. Something like the Embassy Suites but I can't find a location out there. Can anyone recommend a hotel, either in San Francisco or the East Bay?

Thanks so much in advance!

There are Embassy Suites all over the Bay Area. Just looked on the website and saw one in Santa Clara, Walnut Creek, San Raphael, Seaside, San Francisco Airport, and Napa. Here are the listings: http://embassysuites3.hilton.com/en/about/locations/index.html#?regionId=486&subregionId=2490

The Comfort Inn also has Suites: https://www.choicehotels.com/california/sausalito/bay-area-discovery-museum-hotels?view=List
Marriott also has suites: http://www.marriott.com/marriott/temphousing.mi

There is a Homewood Suites in Oakland http://homewoodsuites3.hilton.com/en/index.html

Your welcome! Enjoy your stay.

Larkspur Landing near SFO is great

You don't want to stay anywhere near SFO! Bad idea.

Untrue. I live in SF. I have one friend who lives in San Bruno and two in Pacifica. Those are near SFO and all three are quite happy.

Why not?

Pacifica isn't even close to SFO! And San Bruno as a vacation spot? Not in a million years. Try to stay in SF if possible, second pick would be across the GGB in Marin County, very easy to get into the city for the day plus it would be cheaper for a room. Also closer to a lot of places to see such as Muir Beach, Mt. Tam, Sausalito, Pt. Reyes National Seashore and of course Napa/Sonoma.

Pacifica IS close to SFO. And there's no reason to waste the money staying in SF when you can stay in San Bruno (or elsewhere, but not Marin which is super expensive) and just BART into the city in 25 minutes.

There's nothing wrong with Pacifica, it's just not a normal vacation area for Bay Area visitors. More of a coastal bedroom community. As for Marin lodging prices, it's lower then SF by a mile plus almost no crime and a ton less homeless. The OP isn't buying a house, just visiting.

Who in there right mind wouldn't stay in either Marin, Sonoma or Napa if SF wasn't in there price range?
