How much food/milk to take to daycare for 11 month old?

Anonymous
We took our DS out of daycare two months ago, and he'll be going back in January. I have absolutely no idea what to take with me to daycare. He's been out of a schedule (don't judge, he was hospitalized and have well meaning family taking care of him), and I want to put him back in one. Can you share what you pack for an 11 month old? How many ounces of milk? How much food?

Thanks guys!

No offense but this should be common sense. If they don't supply food, then send a breakfast, lunch and snack, depending on your pick up and drop off hours. You should have an idea of what and how much your child eats and drinks

OP here. Honestly, I don't know how much he takes. I've had well meaning family taking care of him. When I asked MIL how much he would eat during the day she would boast how well he did. While he's been with my brother in law yesterday, he only took in 2 ounces of milk. During the weekend, he uses me as a water fountain for milk. I have absolutely no idea how many ounces of food he should be getting for each meal.

My 12 month old drinks about 12-15 oz of breastmilk during the day. He also gets table food, but how much he eats of that varies considerably from day to day. Right now he's teething and not interested in anything, so he had 4 cheerios for breakfast. I would just send a couple small portions of different foods and go from there. You'll know pretty quickly how its going.

We sent 3 formula bottles (breakfast, lunch, snack) at 11 months but transitioned down to 2 bottles soon thereafter, after having breastfed until about 10.5 months. Only 5 oz each, but our kid never took to large bottles. Also sent a small tupperware (you know the small square ones?) of food for breakfast and lunch, not particularly caring if the food was typical breakfast or lunch meals. For example, some had a few black beans, blueberries, pieces of muffin, pasta with pesto, meatballs, or mashed veggie options. The afternoon snack was a little fruit and/or yogurt. Ours went through a bit of a food rebellion around 12 months, during which we had to go back to mostly super soft food like yogurt, oatmeal and breads. Mine got in teeth really late, so yours may be able to do harder foods. We also sent a sippy cup of water, which they began to offer with lunch or snack food as a way to ensure he would drink it. We never had any issues but our provider said that some kids need a little longer practice time to encourage them to drink something other than formula or milk.

Our childcare provides food, but at 11 months, I was sending 2 5oz bottles of breastmilk and baby was eating breakfast, morning snack, lunch and afternoon snack. Does your day care have regular eating times? They should be able to tell you how many meals and snacks to pack.
