| Does anyone do this? I know it is not recommended but wondering if people do it anyway... |
| Nope, never. My contacts are $140 for one box of 6 lenses. That's just too expensive for me to have one float away. |
| Yes, always. But my vision is terrible. I wear goggles. I've done it for years |
OP here, thank you! I did it today sort of by accident, I wear goggles, and I realized it may not be a problem. |
| I wear contacts in the pool twice per week. Never had a problem. |
| I think as long as you wear goggles it should be okay. |
| Yes, I've done it for almost 30 years wearing goggles. I hate goggles, but what other choice do I have? Never had a problem. |
| Yes, all the time. Just have to wear goggles, and only take them off once my head is out of the water. I couldn't see well enough to find the pool if I didn't wear my contacts! I'd be wandering into the men's locker room or something. |
| I wear contacts, and my son wears glasses. Just a heads up that you can get single vision goggles for $36 on ACLens.com. He usually wears a bifocal, but for swimming, his ophthalmologist told us single vision would be fine. May be worth it if you worry about losing a contact, but need to be able to see! |
cue the 70s porn flick soundtrack. |
| NP here. Anybody have a pair of goggles they'd recommend? |
I always do this! I do triathlons and would not be able to see without my contacts! I have really good googles. |
+1. |
| The water is really dirty. I can't imagine getting that on your lenses is a good idea. |
I went to the swimming store on lee highway in arlington. They had at least two brands with perscrioption said and I just picked the more comfortable one. |
