lower back pain at just 5 weeks?

I'm only 5 weeks along and I have lower back pain already. i didn't have this with my first so i'm worried. anyone else experience this?

I had the same problem when pregnant, but it didn't last longer than a week or two in early pregnancy. The back pain in late pregnancy was another story. I get pain in my lower back before me period starts as well, so I think that it may have to do with my uterus being slightly larger. You can call the doctor if it is concerning.

There are many hormones being released into your body right now. One of them helps ligaments to relax and move. This puts pressure on your muscles. I had it early on as well.

I actually wrenched my lower back twice in the first 3 weeks of pregnancy - one time had me hunched over in pain for nearly a week. I feared my whole pregnancy would be painful and I would have sciatic issues early on. However, now at 30 weeks I have not had sciatic pain yet and minimal discomfort in lower back. My OB is fine with me using a heating pad if needed which has helped in the past few weeks right before going to bed.

I had back pain early in both of my pregnancies. It went away w/in a couple of weeks. So, hang in there & hopefully yours will, too.
