There are some good deals, including at Atlantis, where my daughter has her heart set on going. I'm hoping that it might less crowded in the off season as well.
But is it going to be brutally hot? Worse than DC in August? Are there hurricanes that early in the season? |
| I went to school in the Bahamas for a semester of college about 20 years ago (long story and yes, it was great). Anyway, I remember that when we arrived in September it was so hot that even going in the ocean did not cool us down! Not sure if June will be quite that bad but it will be hot. |
| I went over Memorial Day weekend a few years ago and it was totally fine-- beautiful weather, in fact! Not quite June, but close... |
| Is that the rainy season? It was when I was in Belize 2 yrs ago. Still a good trip though. |

Bahamas is cooler than the rest of the Caribbean, since it is so much further north. I don't think it will be out of control, and you also will be on the beach, by the pool, or in AC if you are staying at Atlantis.
June is definitely in the hurricane / wet season, but the hurricanes tend to come a bit later in the season. Now, in terms of rain, you really never know. You could get a gorgeous week or you could have some rain. Weather is always a gamble, but I would still go for it. BTW, I am a former DC Mom now living in the Caribbean (St. Lucia - where it has been raining ALL week!). |
