| Wondering if any impact on kids who are cited for drinking on their college apps? |
| Cited by police? As opposed to school? |
| Depends on what the question on the App is? Have they pled guilty to a misdemeanor? |
| wondering if OP is 16 yr old HS student? |
Agree. Odd that this question has come up several times in recent weeks. Either one kid is trolling, or one kid is in a heap o' trouble. |
| Look at the application. |
|
Probably not.
Good idea though. If you do have to, include on your personal statement what you learned. Everyone loves a "lessons learned" story. |
|
No. Don't put it out there if there's no record.

| do left handed kids have to tell on their applications? |

I think the Common App has a question that would encompass being cited for underage drinking. A lot of them ask about anything other than traffic violations. They probably won't know if it is not disclosed but if they do find out and it was undisclosed the kid goes straight to the reject pile. (Whereas colleges don't see an isolated instance of underage drinking as a major issue, honestly.)
Think of nondisclosure like the chance of rabies from a random dogbite -- miniscule chance of the negative outcome but if that happens it's invariably fatal (to the application, of course). |
Ironic if colleges cared, since they turn a blind eye to massive underage drinking on their own campuses... |
