Gift ideas for almost-13 y.o. girl (my dd)?

Anonymous
DD gave me a list of suggested xmas gifts and I bought most of them (except for the hover board!) but she wants some surprises. I have no idea what to get. She follows trends (e.g, Lokai, which I already got her). What are your 7th grade girls into these days? I just wanted books when I was her age....

My 7th grader is over EOS and now into lip scrub from Lush. She also digs bath bombs. B&W plain flannel shirt. Miranda Sings book. There can never be too much Starbucks. She's also into fancy mechanical pencils.

Is she into cooking? Sports?

Fancy pens for school?

My 7th grader is also into Lush. She likes the wide headbands and also fuzzy socks.

She loves anything to do with making desserts and has a shave ice machine, a chocolate fountain, cake pop maker, chocolate mould, you name it. She also loves making crafts do anything glittery at Michaels to make earrings or bracelets or charms.

She loves Alix and Ani, Ivviva, Patagonia, vineyard vines, and Lilly Pulitzer.

Hope something here helps

Yep the $2 fuzzy socks at Old Navy are a huge hit.

OP here. These are GREAT suggestions! Thank you! I knew DCUM would come through for me...

Hilarious! My kid is so outside of the norm. My techy, non-stylish 13 year old wanted Adafruit products and a Raspberry Pi, with a few sci fi/fantasy novels thrown in for good measure.

She would have no idea what to do with Lush bath products and would laugh at Lily Pulitzer (even though we belong to a country club).

I'm not making fun of your DDs by any stretch. I'm just marveling at what a nerd I've raised.

Here's the mind-blowing thing: my DD is the one who is into Lush lip scrub. She's a nerd at the same time. Must be a Venn diagram of nerdiness, huh?

Must be. I wish my nerd was interested in fashion and beauty products! It's like I'm killing her if she has to put on decent clothes for an event.

American Eagle boyfriend flannel. All the girls are crazy about them right now. One is going in my 8th grade DD's stocking.

I'm the one with the DD into Lush, Lilly Pulitzer, and nailpolish, but to get her to put on deoderant daily is a total battle. And she is way into math and science, to the point that she repeats experiments at home that she learned in school and actually tracked down the teacher's experiment book so that she can do the experiments in advance before they get taught. So being into fashion and beauty products doesn't mean that she is clean (though is a swimmer so at least she is fumigated daily by the chlorine) and it sure doesn't mean that she lacks nerdiness!!

Ok mine wants combat boots, an armband for her iPhone, and her bra also comes in leopard print (I wrote on the package "ONLY OPEN IF YOU AGREE TO THESE RULES:…" the rules were basically no one sees your bra except (best friend), and no pics of the bra.

oh she also wanted a big wall sticker.

My DD is so into every beauty product from lush, Alix and Andi jewelry, fancy baking products, hunter boots, vineyard vines, etc. etc. I am the nerd and not rich and not sure where she gets it from! It seems like it would be easier if she was nerdy. At 13, she gives me all party planning and hosting advice. Scary right?
