I am from Mallorca, where she claims to be from. It is true I have never heard speak spanish for a long time, just simple sentences, but her accent is really really good and could perfectly be from Mallorca. In Mallorca we have second language, catalan, and people that speaks catalan as her native language at home could have a different accent. But actually many people in Mallorca don't speak catalan at home, we just learn it at school.

Exactly. The interview when he was in Spain promoting something and he states she wasn't born in Spain, but her "paternal grandmother" was from Spain.
He has a slightly strident / defensive tone in that interview.

That same trip he said she was "from Murcia." Seems like the "from Murcia" interview was first. She probably became worried there would be too many questions about that - them being in Spain and all - that might have been cause for more "probing" questions like wow, where in Murcia, where did she go to school? - then she told him "Well.....okay, so I'm not "from" Murcia, but my dad's mom is from Spain.

Hard to explain away that statement about the grandmother as us fat frizzy haired folks being "confused."

I understand wanting to "defend the one you love" (said in the same weird, whispery way he did in his instagram) but come on, this is not the way to do it.

US should have ended the article with their statement instead of continuing to add in the false narrative that Hilary doesn’t understand why this is happening since she didn’t lie, the press did. Both Alec and Hilary are on record a number of times lying about her background. US et al needs to stop giving space in these articles for their gaslighting and call the truth out.

Came across another explicit lie, I think via the Reddit thread. There’s an Instagram post of her, her mom and another woman (I think a relative) sitting next to each other at a spa; can’t remember if the picture showed them getting pedicures. The caption said something like “when you get 3 Spanish women together...” pretty blatantly an explicit lie - not some debatable “misrepresentation by the media” BS.
