Sick parent - what is the process to get power of attorney

Sorry, I'm googling and trying to figure out the process - and have a call into my parents' estate attorney. There are so many lawyers here, I thought someone might be able to help me out. Thanks

Wait for your parents' estate attorney to call you back.

Talk to the attorney. It will vary based on the state, as well.

I assume that Mom has Dad as POA. and Dad has Mom as POA. Unless they told you that you are the POA.

How sick is your parent? if they are coherent, they can sign the POA paperwork and it will be valid.

I work in an office where one of our client's mother was quite ill, but still with it enough to understand what she was signing so it wasn't a problem. This was in Maryland.
